2 Excellent Scrapbooking Tips

By Elizabeth Stewart

If you are just getting started in scrapbooking, or even if you are a veteran, there are 2 sure fire scrapbooking tips you need to know. These 2 tips should be the foundation, or the basis, of your scrapbooking. Although simple, if you choose not to follow these, or to do it your way, you are going to end up in a mess down the road. So, what are the 2 scrapbooking tips?

Tip #1: Get A Scrapbooking Organizer: And let’s start by saying a shoebox does not count as an organizer. When looking for organization tools, just keep it simple. The boxes you are going to store your pictures in should not be made out of paper. They should be some sort of plastic. Ensure it is durable, this way you can stack them on top of each other. The other part is have them separated in the box. Nothing like having to look through 300 pictures (at least) to find the one from the special occasion. Keep them organized from the beginning, and you will save yourself much frustration and many headaches.

Tip #2: Buy Quality Paper: Quality paper? I thought all scrapbooking paper is the same? It is not? NO, it is not!! There are 3 things you need to check for before you buy any scrapbooking material: acid free, lignin free, and buffered. Acid free will prevent the pictures and the paper from turning yellow, as will lignin free. Buffered means the paper has been treated with a little extra something to help protect the paper from the environment or other acids in the paper. This is what helps to preserve it much longer. Just ensure you see the 3 phrases: acid free, lignin free, and buffered.

These 2 scrapbooking tips, if followed, will help keep your pictures organized, and keep your pictures preserved. Why take a chance and buy something just because it is a little cheaper? You will pay for it in the long run. For quality and organization, you will pretty well of if you follow these scrapbooking tips.
